Snow Totals For Boston-Area's First Snowfall Of The Season

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Greater Boston saw its first real snow of the season on Sunday night, with the greatest snow totals in Western Mass.

Snow pulled in on Sunday afternoon and continued overnight across much of the state, causing some serious traffic problems. Newton Fire reported several crashes on Route 9 as the snow ramped up, and there were at least 70 crashes reported in Worcester according to WBZ-TV.

The National Weather Service published snow totals from the storm as of late Sunday night. Logan Airport picked up just under an inch of snow, as did Chelsea. The top ten totals were mostly in Western Mass, but Foxboro picked up 2.5 inches and Weymouth reported 2.0 inches, which were the highest totals so far in Eastern Massachusetts.

  • Hawley: 7.5"
  • Chesterfield: 7.0"
  • Chicopee: 6.4"
  • Westhampton: 6.0"
  • Westfield: 5.7"
  • Northampton: 5.5"
  • Ludlow: 5.0"
  • West Springfield: 5.0"
  • Sturbridge: 4.1"
  • Greenfield: 3.8"
