BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Numerous flights out of Logan Airport have been delayed or outright canceled as the effects of this weekend’s nor’easter continue to be felt.
According to AccuWeather meteorologist Matt Benz, heavy winds and rain will persist throughout the rest of the day today, especially towards the Cape and Islands, a wind advisory for the Cape p.m. until 8 p.m. The wind and rain is set to continue through the day tomorrow until the evening.
"Weather is the main issue causing delays/cancellations at the moment. In terms of impacts from the shutdown, we have not seen any new issues or an increase in callouts at this time at Logan," a spokesperson from Massport said.
Many travelers are keeping their fingers crossed in hopes that they can fly out on time.

Some are saying that their flights are still planned to take off on time and that they’re just hoping for the best.
“I’ve checked probably once an hour since last night,” Claudia, Minneapolis resident and former Bay Stater, said. “Right now, I’m on time, so I’m crossing my fingers that will continue throughout the day.”
“I saw that there was a storm moving in coming in. I was kind of concerned about that heading out,” one flyer said. “So far so good.”
“We’ll get out when we get out, so I’m not too concerned about it,” another traveler said.
Others are a bit more on edge, such as Ash, whose wife recently had some travel plans made more complicated due to bad weather.
“My wife was stuck in Jersey, she had to take a Greyhound…got to Cincinnati in 13 hours and was on hold for one hour,” Ash said.
Despite this, he’s still hoping for a smooth trip, even if the particulars may be thrown into question.
“I need to get to San Francisco right now, so I have no idea,” Ash said. “I hope it’s not getting cancelled. I have checked and it says on time.”
