BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for parts of Massachusetts and large swaths of the rest of New England for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Most of Worcester County excluding Worcester itself, the upper Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires are all under the advisory, and higher elevations could see up to 3 inches of snow. Northern Worcester County suburbs like Fitchburg could see 2 inches. Further east towards Route 128 will likely only see a small spray of flakes or wintry mix before changing over to rain.
The Service also says ice is a concern with this storm, with elevations above a thousand feet likely to see up to two-tenths of an inch of ice.
All of Vermont is under a Winter Weather Advisory, as is most of New Hampshire outside the seacoast.
After the snow, temperatures are expected to remain seasonably chilly for the rest of the week before dropping off a cliff with lows in the 20's after the weekend.
