The 90's were a weird time in music. If you sounded any little bit out of the mainstream you were categorized as an 'alternative band.' Artists like Hootie & The Blowfish, The Black Crowes, Jewel and Sheryl Crow were all 'alternative' acts. I believe that if they were to come out in today's musical landscape they'd be considered country. That's why I was particularly excited to see that Darius Rucker and The Black Crowes were teaming up for an episode of CMT Crossroads.
The show premiered last night (5/16) and will surely have repeat showings on CMT. They posted a few of the performances on YouTube. I'm partial to their performance of 'Remedy.' I've always loved that song.
