The popularity of certain baby names come and go like fashion trends. We see the lists popping up each year. But there are some once popular names that are going the way of the dinosaur. If parents don't act fast, the world will be without Pats, Bobs and Jims.
Laura Wattenberg, founder of Namerology, told the Today Show that there are some names that used to be wildly popular that have fallen out of favor. Specifically one syllable names like Jim, Pat, Bob and Dave. That style is falling out of fashion.
So, what leads to a name being considered statistically 'gone?' Namerology says when a name is given to fewer than five boys or girls in a year, they are considered extinct. Here are the names that are dying off. If you want to save them, it's on you to have a baby and give them one of these names.
