Moving across the country can be hugely stressful for anyone, but it's been a nightmare for one family thanks to United Airlines.
When a family moving from Oregon to Kansas went to pick up their 10-year-old German Shepherd, Irgo, at a United cargo facility after their flight, they were instead met by a Great Dane.
They were informed that there was a mixup and Irgo had been mistakenly shipped to Japan instead!
According to news reports, the dog had no food or water for his 16.5 trip to Japan.
This is now the second major incident involving animal welfare and United this week. Earlier in the week, a 10-month-old French bulldog puppy died after a flight attendant forced the owners to put the dog in the overhead bin during the flight.
Owner of 10-year-old Irgo tells me her pup has an ear infection & had no food or water on his 16.5 hr flight, after United Airlines mistakenly flew the German Shepherd to Japan instead of Kansas. Waiting to hear back from United. More from CNN affil @KCTV5 https://t.co/1ZNeBuuj0x— Marlena Militana (@MarlenaTV) March 14, 2018
Pet carelessness not new for @united: Out of 24 animals that died in the care of an airline, 18 of them were United flights. Yesterday a puppy was killed by being forced into an overhead bin, today they lost a dog who was supposed to be on an hour flight-the dog is now in Japan.— Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule) March 14, 2018
