Wounded Veterans with PTSD Get to Swim With Dolphins As Therapy

Between 11 and 20 percent of all soldiers who serve will struggle with PTSD.

A group of remarkable heroes, wounded in battle, recently had the opportunity to swim with dolphins as part of their therapy.

Jennifer Mackinday, her brother, James Smith and others swam with the dolphins at Marathon's Dolphin Research Center, sharing dolphin kisses, flipper shakes, high fives and dorsal pulls as they learned behavioral techniques. "The dolphins are really funny, and they're a lot like people," Smith said.
