Millions of people are in the crosshairs of a major winter storm – and it’s even got a scary name to go with it. Forecasters say New England is about to get hammered by a Bombogenesis. That's a weather system that involves a rapid drop in barometric pressure, which leads to an intense storm. More specifically, according to NOAA, "...it’s a mid-latitude cyclone that rapidly intensifies, with a central pressure that drops at least 24 millibars over 24 hours."
