It can be tough in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to remember the reason for the season! Here are a few simple ways you can give back to others in need:
- Visit a soup kitchen or food bank - Drop off the extra cans of cranberries or leftover bags of pita chips you didn’t use or shop for a few staples to take to your local food pantry or soup kitchen. Find your local food pantry here.
- Donate winter coats - Find a charity drive or just take them to your local goodwill, either way your old winter coat can help someone in need stay warm. Donate blankets as well!
- Adopt a letter through Operation Santa - For more than 100 years, the U.S. Postal Service has allowed charities and individuals to “adopt” a kid’s letter to Santa. You just need to respond and sign it “Mr. Claus” and use a North Pole return address. Find out more about Operation Santa here.
