Carolina Panthers Cam Newton quarterback is feeling the heat after making a rude, sexist comment to a sports reporter this week.
Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer asked Newton a legitimate question about running routes. She said,
"I know you take a lot of pride in seeing your receivers play well. Devin Funchess has really embraced the physicality of his routes and getting those extra yards. Does that give you a little bit of an enjoyment?"
Newton's response was to laugh at the reporter and belittle her for being a woman. He smirked, and replied,
"It's funny to hear a female talk about routes like... It's funny."
Jourdan Rodrigue addressed the situation on Twitter. She revealed that she approached Newton privately later, and that he would not apologize for his condescending response.
