Houston Schools Will Feed Students 3 Meals a Day All Year

While those affected by Hurricane Harvey start to figure out their next steps, the Houston Independent School District figured out a way to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to more than 200,000 students for the rest of the school year.

The district received approval from the state and local government to waive the application process for the National School Lunch Program this year.

That means about 215,000 kids are eligible to receive a free breakfast, lunch and dinner every day until the school year is over.

Thanks to the school and government officials involved, families will be better able to rebuild their homes with one less worry on their minds.
