Simple Ways To Help Boost Your Self-Confidence

It's really important to work on your mental health. I cam across the below from Women's Health

Being confident starts with self-love, and Dr. Brian Wind explains that means “having a high regard for your own happiness and well-being.” Self-love is about reminding yourself that you’re enough and practicing it can influence your mental and physical health and even your overall happiness. So how do we do it? These are some easy ways to show yourself all the love.

  • Recite mantras- Use positive self-talk to ease anxiety and boost your confidence. Remind yourself, “everyone feels this way sometimes” and “may I be gentle and understanding with myself.”
  • Pursue a hobby that makes you feel good- Boost self-confidence by doing things you enjoy and that you’re good at. Pleasure for pleasure’s sake, like playing Candy Crush, is great, but it won’t increase self-confidence.
  • Try an activity you loved as a kid- Returning to something familiar and using a skill you already have can boost confidence. So dust off the tennis racket and try playing again.
  • Do something you’ve never tried before- Stepping outside your comfort zone reminds you that you're tougher than you think. Anything from speaking up in a meeting if you usually don’t to learning a new language can help you trust yourself more.
  • Bring on the bass- Listening to music with more bass may boost feelings of power and self-confidence, according to onestudy.
  • Do more everyday things you’re good at- Doesn’t matter what it is and it doesn’t have to be a professional skill. If you’re good at yoga, pull up a video on YouTube and roll out your mat. Research shows the belief that you’re good at something and self-worth are linked and the more you do things that you’re good at, the better you’ll feel about yourself.
  • Try something that makes you feel confident on the outside- When you look good, you feel good, so wear your favorite color or spend five minutes longer doing your hair for a quick confidence booster.
  • Treat yourself like you treat your friends- We’re often harder on ourselves than we would be to others, so try spreading the kindness you show them to yourself.
