The Full Story:
Not every company is strictly out to make money, and now “People” magazine is recognizing ones that go out of their way to show they care. The magazine has just revealed their third annual “Companies That Care” list, singling out 50 companies that have demonstrated respect, compassion, and concern for their communities, their employees, and the environment.
Topping the list for a third year in a row is the San Francisco-based company Salesforce. The company promotes philanthropy by giving employees seven days of paid time off to give back to causes that are important to them, and they also match donations up to $5,000 a year. In addition, the top 100 volunteers in the company receive an additional $10K to donate to a non-profit of their choosing.
They are also good to veterans, with their Vetforce program providing skills training, career coaching and mentoring to military service members and their families.
