ROOTING FOR A WINNING TEAM IMPROVES YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

According to a new study, rooting for a winning team improves your mental health.

Researchers found that sports fans get a big boost of confidence when their team wins -- and this feeling can last two days after the victory.

So for two days, these sports fans walk around with higher levels of self-esteem, making them more effective in their daily routines.

The researchers also found that while fans of losing teams don't get the confidence boost that fans of the winning teams get, they also don’t suffer a loss in esteem. They’re able to get on with their lives, disappointed, but no less effective than before the game. (New York Post)
