How is Boston Not NUMBER 1?!

  • New York, New York tops the list, coming in at number in the MLB category, which includes number of teams, franchise value, number of championship wins and fan engagement

While fans of the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers watch with bated breath to see who’ll be this year's World Series champs, there are a lot of other baseball fans around the country just counting the days until a new season starts for their team. And while there’s no doubt Americans love baseball, it seems there are some cities where it’s easier to love America’s pastime than others.

WalletHub has just come out with their list of the Best Baseball Cities in the U.S. The site judged 360 of the largest U.S. cities with at least one professional or college baseball team, looking at 31 key factors of baseball fan-friendlies, including team’s performance, average ticket price, stadium accessibility and more. 

So, what is the best city for baseball? Well, it turns out it’s New York, New York, which scores a 58.6 out of 100, ranking number one in the MLB category, which includes number of teams, franchise value, number of championship wins and fan engagement. (Well, the Mets probably had little to do with that.)
