The offer is back and it’s even better this year.

We love Target for so many reasons and one of them is their car seat trade-in event. New parents might not realize the store has had this offer in previous years and now it’s back and better than before.

Here’s how it works: Just bring in your used car set to a Target store from now until September 22nd and they’ll take it off your hands and give you a 20% off coupon that’s good through October 6th. In the past, the discount was good towards the purchase of a new car seat, booster, seat base, or travel system and it still is, but Target has expanded the offer. Now you can also use the coupon to save on other baby gear, including play yards, high chairs, rockers, swings, and bouncers.

For the car seat trade-in, Target works with Waste Management, a company that focuses on finding solutions for hard to recycle items. Since the program started back in 2016, the companies have recycled over 306,000 car seats. That’s hundreds of thousands of them that won’t be sitting in landfills now. And since car seats actually have an expiration date and kids keep growing, it’s nice to have a way to save when you need a new one.
