DOG SAVES MAN FROM DROWNING
A man was recently saved from drowning by an unlikely hero -- a seven-year-old Labrador retriever named Woody.
24-year-old Mason Ringer was boating with two friends in South Carolina when his boat flipped over. It was a bad time for a boating accident as the winds were gusting and the water temperature was a dangerous 58 degrees.
The two friends were able to get to shore, but Mason was stuck in the choppy waves, until Woody -- the Lab -- heard Mason calling for help and jumped into the water.
Woody was able to paddle to Mason and Mason was able to grab hold of Woody. Amazingly, Woody was then able to paddle back to shore, towing Mason along the way.
There wasn't much time to spare, either, as Mason was starting to suffer from hypothermia and was cramping up.
Now fully recovered from the rescue, which he calls a “miracle,” Mason says he owes Woody a big steak for his cold river swim. (WSAV-TV)
