Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just sent out thousands of wedding invitations to members of the public.
The soon-to-be-married couple announced that they will allow the public to watch them arrive by carriage at Windsor Castly for their grand royal wedding on May 19th. Kensington Palace released a statement saying, "Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too."
But not just anyone can go. The Royal Family is asking authorities in nine of the UK's regions to handpick the invited guests. They want a diverse crowd consisting of young people who have shown strong leadership and have served their communities. Also, workers from charitable organizations that are close to Harry and Meghan and local school children will be invited. (The Guardian)
