Maren Morris is set to perform with Niall Horan on next week’s CMA Awards, and she says the One Direction star is really excited about performing their tune “Seeing Blind” on country music’s biggest night.
“He and I were texting yesterday and we both were just freaking out,” Maren tells "Billboard.” “It was really cool for me to hear that side from him, because I know he’s a fan of country music, but for him to really show props and understand how much of an honor it is to play on that stage was so refreshing to me.” She adds, “he completely gets the weight of getting to debut this song on the CMA stage.”
As for the collaboration, Maren shares, “We’re just making sure it’s a really memorable performance, and it’s going to be. I cannot wait and neither can he.”
