Muni Long set the scene at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday (March 17) evening, performing an extraordinary cover of Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together".
The beloved R&B songstress paid tribute to the star with her signature soothing vocals, asking her if she could "sing to her" before dominating the stage in an all-black jumpsuit complete with a gold belt and matching statement earrings. The standout serenaded the crowd with a beautiful rendition of the 2005 hit ahead of Carey's acceptance speech.
The "Fantasy" hitmaker received this year's Icon Award and was honored for her endless contributions to music and timeless hits that have reached "icon" status. Long was also nominated for R&B Artist of the Year and R&B Song of the Year for 2024 hit "Made For Me," featuring Carey.
The "Dollhouse" songstress released her fourth studio album, Revenge, in 2024, which showcased tracks like "Superpowers," "30s," "Make Me Forget," and the song that got her nominated at this year's show!
Top nominees for the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards included Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, and Post Malone, to name only a few stars recognized for their contributions to music.
Other artists who took the stage at this year's show include Bad Bunny, GloRilla, Kenny Chesney, Nelly, Billie Eilish, Gracie Abrams, and Tori Kelly who joined Long in paying tribute to Carey.
