When someone has a good scam that they almost fell for, we like to share it make sure it doesn’t happen to someone else!
Amy got a toll enforcement invoice to her text. It stated that they were notifying her to let her know she had unpaid tolls on her record and provided a link to make a payment. There were instructions on how to do the link which to her showed that it was a scam. It did make her nervous that a camera picked her up going through a toll from months ago that she didn’t remember and now she had thousands of dollars of fines to pay.
If you’re from a rural part of the country that does not have tolls or go through tolls all the time you probably would not fall for this. But, if you only go through a toll occasionally, this scam could’ve worked!
