Watch: Nonstop Illegal Fireworks In Boston On July 4th

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Although there were no official firework displays planned in Boston this 4th of July, the city's skyline was still lit up with illegal fireworks for several hours.

A feed from WBZ-TV’s Hancock tower camera showed a continuous flow of fireworks bursting across the city well into the night.

Fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts for anyone without a professional license, according to the state Department of Fire Services.

Shortly after 10 p.m., Braintree Police tweeted that it had been "zero minutes" since the department last received a call about the constant fireworks. By 10:10 p.m., the Braintree Police said it had received 18 fireworks-related calls.

Dozens of social media users also posted videos of the fireworks around the city, which started well before sunset and continued into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Boston police said it had confiscated a large number of illegal fireworks ahead of Independence Day, including a large seizure in South Boston on July 3rd.
