Warning Issued After Sexual Assault Reported In North End

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A community alert has been issued in the North End, after a man reportedly tried to sexually assault a woman on the street over the weekend.

The woman told Boston police she had been walking in the area of Prince Street and North Square at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, when a man approached her and attempted to sexually assault her.

"The victim stated that she screamed and the suspect fled the area," said BPD. "The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 25-35 years old, about 5’6”, with short hair."

BPD said its Sexual Assault Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances of the incident, and anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to come forward and contact the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400.
