Two Dead Following Crash Of Small Plane In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Due to the crash of a small plane at the Mansfield Municipal Airport in Mansfield, Mass., two people have died.

The aircraft, a Cessna 172, went down around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to officials. The two individuals on board both died. Both bodies were removed from the plane wreck and wheeled away on stretchers.

According to the Mansfield Fire Chief, both of the individuals killed were male. They were a flight instructor and a student.

There appears to have been no mayday call.

The plane did not catch on fire, as was previously stated by officials.

The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the crash.
