WATCH: Runaway Dogs Get Police Escort In Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WBZ Newsradio) — On Easter Sunday, Jim Lyons, chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, spotted two dogs out for a stroll on Main Street in Tewksbury—with their very own police escort.

"Two friends out for an Easter stroll down Main St., Tewksbury," he wrote. "Great job by Tewksbury Police Dept!"

Tewksbury Police told The Boston Globe that the officer saw the dogs and escorted them for about half a mile with his flashing lights on.

They veered off the road into a swampy area, but were later reunited with their owner.
