BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Snow is expected across New England Friday—and while most of it is expected not to stick in the Boston area, it's a sure sign that fall is in the rear view mirror and it's time to prepare for winter.
With snow in the forecast, residents on the South Shore are being extra cautious, buying snow blowers.
Stephen Wells, owner of Blue Hills Power Equipment in Milton, told WBZ NewsRadio's Kevin Coleman that even a tiny bit of snow sends customers rushing for snowblowers.
"You know, you could forecast an inch and they'd just panic," he said. "We're just trying to get everybody ready that's on the waiting list, and reassure the ones that are on the waiting list not to worry because it'll probably be rain."
He said the waiting list starts in September.
"We have about 90 on it right now," he said. "We take in about 15 a week, get out 15 a week, and sell 10-15 a week."
