CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Several neighborhoods in Cambridge are ranked among the best in Massachusetts, according to a new survey.
Cambridge nearly swept the board on the top ten list of best places to live in the Commonwealth. Cambridgeport came out on top at number one on NICHE's Top 30 Places to Live in Massachusetts and 18th in the U.S.
"It's a great place to live. I've got my dog here, so I love to walk around with him. Plenty of places to take the dogs and ride on the river, so yeah, it's beautiful," Zachary, who lives in the area, said.

The rankings took into account crime, public schools, job opportunities, local amenities, and the cost of living, which has been a concern for some residents. But Natalie of Cambridge said she understands the price, citing its "multicultural and diverse" community.
"There's a great quality of life and access to a lot of resources. It's certainly very expensive, but they do a good job with green spaces and grocery stores," Natalie said. "So, I can see why people enjoy living here."
In total, eight neighborhoods in Cambridge made the top 10 list in the Commonwealth. The city came in 48th overall in the nation.
