BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — There’s a bright, warm ray of hope shining down on Bostonians walking through the Common.

People were out and about on Monday, taking in the close to 70-degree temperatures after being bombarded for months with snow and cold conditions.

While some are usually hunkered down during the winter, hibernation has ended for many who took the day to hang out on Boston Common.

One Boston local, Emma, was out enjoying the warmth with her dog.

“I’m here with my dog, Maui,” said Emma. “He loves the snow, but it’s much nicer to be out here when it’s good weather, hopefully it will be less muddy soon as well.”

From tanning to going for a jog, there were plenty of plans to take advantage of the warm conditions. The mood among residents also appeared to be changing with the weather.

“The weather makes people act differently,” said one Bostonian. “So, seeing Boston happy right now, everybody’s smiling, outside getting food, it’s good to see.”
