BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 election, local politicians are sharing their reactions.

Trump Tried To Seize Control Of Mueller Probe, Report Says

Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke out in a tweet about Attorney General William Barr, saying he was "standing up for only one person: the President of the United States."

Sen. Ed Markey implored the public not to lose focus of the threat of Russian interference in future elections as well.

Rep. Joe Kennedy III outlined what he saw as Congress's responsibilities following the release of the report.

Rep. Jim McGovern spoke to WBZ NewsRadio's Laurie Kirby Thursday afternoon, calling the report "damning" for the Trump administration. Listen to their full interview here:

Rep. McGovern: Mueller Report Is 'Damning' For Trump

Rep. Stephen Lynch said at a press conference Thursday that he believes President Trump obstructed justice in his handling of the Russia investigation, and added that impeachment was a possibility.

"That would be the ultimate, I think the most severe sanction, but there are also intermediate sanctions as well," he said.

Rep. Seth Moulton said the issues brought to light by the report should be a concern on both sides of the aisle in Congress.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley tweeted a graphic suggesting Congress needed to hear from the report's author himself.
