Dramatic Rescue As Flames Overtake Derry, NH Duplex

DERRY, New Hampshire (WBZ NewsRadio) — There was a dramatic rescue early Monday morning after flames broke out in a duplex on Morningside Drive.

The New Hampshire Union Leader reports a two-year-old child was dropped from a second-floor window of the burning home and was caught by relatives.

The mother who dropped the child then jumped from the window. Both mother and child were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two pets died in the fire. The cause was not yet known.
