TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A popular local family-owned farm that’s visited by many is looking to build a permeant pavilion after this year’s wild winter weather devastated parts of the facility.

Deep Pond Farm and Stables in East Taunton would normally be open at this time of year, but it has had to stay closed as they continue to rebuild after the blizzard of ‘26 destroyed one of their main tents.

“We had a lot of snow, we lost our big party tent, and it collapsed,” said owner George Ghazal.

After cleaning up the mess that was left behind, the family determined that they needed a change.

“We decided that it’s time to put [up] something more permanent,” said Ghazal.

Construction on the new pavilion started a couple of weeks ago and is aiming to be completed when the farm reopens during the first week of May.

The farm, which Ghazal originally built for his family, includes more than 70 acres of land and includes more than 100 animals on its property.

Deep Pond offers space for event hosting, horse lessons and a bar and grill that serves all kinds of food and drinks for the thousands of guests that visit the farm every year.

“They come eat and drink and the kids and whole family have fun,” said Ghazal. “We have fire pits and we have live entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” he added.

The farm opened in 2021 and is completely free to visit.
