Chelmsford Mother Struck By Car After Child Accidentally Put It In Reverse

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) —A Chelmsford mother was seriously injured after being struck and dragged by her car. According to police, as the 37-year-old mother was unloading the car, her 9-year-old child accidentally put it in reverse.

The incident occurred Sunday morning around 10 a.m. on North Road. The mother was standing outside of the driver’s side front door, which was open, when the car went into reverse. Police said the woman was pinned and run over by the vehicle after she got caught inside the car door where she tried to reach the brake pedal.

The woman was medflighted to a hospital in Boston. Police are currently investigating the incident.
