Neighbors Fed Up With Noise From Brookline CrossFit Gym

BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Neighbors fed up with the noise from a CrossFit gym have put up a huge sign protesting the establishment in their driveway.

The large green sign reads "Suffering From CROSSFIT Noise & Vibrations" and "NO CROSSFIT Next to Our House," and CrossFit members parking in the lot next to it see it every time they enter the gym.

Li Chen and her family live on the first floor of a multifamily home, right next door to the gym on Aspinwall Avenue.

For the last three years, she's been complaining that the loud noises coming from the gym are disturbing her family's way of life, saying it is "like an earthquake" in her house.

"When they drop the heavy weights on the floor, our house was shaking," she said. "When we were at the dinner table, we can feel the shaking of the table, and we could hear the wine glasses clinking."

Lee said she doesn't know what the gym's plans are, or whether or not they're willing to make any improvements.

"I just feel like the communications are one-sided," she said. "The communications are not two ways, are not efficient."

WBZ NewsRadio reached out to the gym for comment, but they have declined at this time.
