BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Police Department has announced a newly designated area in Jamaica Plain where fathers can go to learn about local resources.

The BPD said The Father’s Group is a space for fathers within the Bromley Heath/ Mildred C. Hailey Apartments to meet and learn about services and resources available to them and their families.

"Opportunities and assistance in areas such as housing, employment, childcare, and CORI reform are all provided through this group," said BPD.

The Father's Group will be overseen by the department's Community Initiative Housing Liaison Officer, assigned to the Bureau of Community Engagement.

The announcement about the new space for fathers to engage with a liaison officer came hours after back-to-back Father's Day Rallies in Roxbury.

According to BPD, The Father's Group was created by the Tree of Life in collaboration with Urban Edge and the Department of Children and Families.
