Beverly High School Librarian Competing On "Jeopardy!"

BEVERLY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Barbara Fecteau didn't hold back ahead of today's round of "Jeopardy!"

"I'm freaking out!" she said. That's because the Beverly High School librarian is competing on the trivia game show Tuesday night in front of a national audience.

Fecteau already competed on the show back in April, but the episode is only airing now. In some ways, it's the first time she's experiencing it herself:

"I don't remember the whole first half of the game. I don't remember if I humiliated myself, if I was a genius....it's all a mystery to me," Fecteau said from her parent's home in Ohio.

Fecteau remembers how the game ends, but said she needs to keep that to herself until the episode airs tonight on CBS.

Her mother had some advice: "Don't get drunk and don't swear!" But Fecteau's real preparation was being quizzed by her Beverly High coworkers — and working out her thumbs.

"Most people who make it to the show know a lot of the answers, it's really being able to click the fastest. I practiced just clicking, I had one of those clicky pens and I clicked it over and over," she said.

Fecteau said she's received a big response from her former students, who are thrilled she's on the show. The episode is being hosted by LeVar Burton and airs at 7:30 PM on CBS Channel 4/WBZ-TV.
