Berklee College Of Music's Grace Kinstler Reaches Top 5 Of "American Idol"

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Berklee College of Music student is still in the running to win season 19 of "American Idol."

Grace Kinstler secured a place in the Top 5 on Mother's Day. She is the only contestant in the Top 5 with Massachusetts ties.

The 20-year-old sang two songs; Coldplay's "Fix You" along with Adele's "When We Were Young."

Kinstler claimed her performance of "When We Were Young" was a tribute to her mother, since it is one of her favorite songs.

Judge Katy Perry praised Kinstler's vulnerability in both of her performances.

“You know your mom is proud of you, but I want to say tonight especially, that I am so proud of you,” Perry said.

Caleb Kennedy, Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham, and Willie Spence are also in the top five and will compete for a shot at the finals next Sunday.
