Watch Lady A's Behind-The-Scenes Glimpse Of Surprise Moment With Megan Moroney

Lady A shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their surprise appearance at one of Megan Moroney’s sold-out arena shows in Nashville, Tennessee.

Moroney, 28, made her headlining debut at Bridgestone Arena with back-to-back, sold-out performances last month. The Emo Cowgirl brought a few special guests on stage at the shows, including the Grammy-winning trio. Lady A joined Moroney on stage in front of thousands of fans attending the “Cloud 9 Tour,” and performed their massive 2009 single, “Need You Now,” with Moroney.

Lady A’s Dave Haywood said in the behind-the-scenes video on Wednesday (September 2) that Moroney asked the group to sing that song with her. “And we were like, ‘absolutely.’ I love what she’s doing,” he said. The clip shows Haywood backstage with bandmates Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley. It also shows the moment Moroney explained to the crowd that she often listened to this song in her Mustang after getting her drivers license, “so a younger Megan cannot believe that she gets to introduce Lady A to the Cloud 9 stage.”

Moroney recently wrapped up the U.S. portion of her first-ever headlining arena tour. She’s been performing after the release of her third studio record of the same title. Moroney previously said of the album, “I am so excited for my fans and I to dive into this new world of Cloud 9 together. Similar to the first two albums [2023’s Lucky and 2024’s Am I Okay?], it’s all written about honest, personal experiences, but these songs were written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I’ve ever been. My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry and it was fun to play around sonically, while still sticking to my roots of what my fans and I love. Cloud 9 is a state of mind, and I have no doubt this will be the best chapter yet.”
