Watch: Thomas Rhett Suffers Injury During Show, Leaves Arena In Wheelchair

Thomas Rhett shared a glimpse of the moment he suffered an injury during a performance and left the venue in a wheelchair.

Rhett made a surprise appearance at Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Forrest Frank’s headlining concert over the weekend at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Frank spotlighted the “Beautiful As You” artist sitting in the arena. Rhett pointed out the moment he stumbled on the way down the stairs while making his way to the stage. He made a “quick recovery,” though he admitted he was in “pain” when he joined Frank in front of the cheering crowd. The pair continued the show and Rhett ended up leaving the arena in a wheelchair.

“You know, every now and then, you just have to sing at a Forrest Frank concert and break your ankle in the process,” Rhett said while sitting in the wheelchair before his wife, Lauren Akins, pushed him out of the venue. He shared a clip of that moment on TikTok and Instagram on Monday (April 14). “Hey, I gave my all for Tennessee tonight.”

Rhett is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 3. The festival, hosted by iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones, will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Other artists in the lineup include Brooks & Dunn, Cole Swindell, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Megan Moroney, Bailey Zimmerman and Nate Smith.
