Jordan Davis couldnât help but quote a line from the classic 1980s movie Ferris Buellerâs Day Off when he debuted his sentimental new single on Friday (August 12). The country singer-songwriter kicked off the weekend with âNext Thing You Know,â a song that serves as a tribute to the most special moments in life.
âLife moves pretty fast. If you donât stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it,â Davis quoted as he announced his new song on Instagram on Friday. âSo proud to have a song like this out, wrote it with 3 of the best guys in country musicâŠ.Yâall give it a listenâŠAlso, yes I quoted Ferris Bueller.â
The song is one of Davisâ latest releases since his massively-popular collaboration with Luke Bryan, âBuy Dirt,â (and joins other previously-released fan-favorite songs, like âSlow Dance In A Parking Lot,â âSingles You Up,â âTake It From Me,â âAlmost Maybes,â âWhat My World Spins Aroundâ and more).
âI say that song was about my faith, about my family and about my friends. I wrote it with my brother and another set of brothers that are two of our best friends,â Davis previously said of the sentimental song, âBuy Dirt.â âSo, itâs just kind of â I donât think that song gets written if itâs not with three guys that I dearly love, about three things that are the most important things in my life. So, itâs kind of all that tied into one.â
