Set sail for the inaugural Red White and Blue Party on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, hosted by the Young Professionals of the American Cancer Society in Boston. This fundraising event will be a distinctive evening cruise around Boston Harbor that has a lifesaving mission. Funds raised will support the American Cancer Society’s new Diversity in Research Internship program. All are welcome to lend their support at https://www.redwhiteblueboston.org.
Guests are asked to wear their best red, white, and blue yachting attire to enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music, and an auction while honoring the community’s cancer survivors. Boarding is at 6 p.m. on The Lexington at Rowe’s Wharf in Boston, and the party will set sail promptly at 6:30 p.m.
The American Cancer Society’s Diversity in Research Internships program will offer paid biomedical research internship opportunities for undergraduate students from racial or ethnic backgrounds that are underrepresented in the scientific community. The Diversity in Research Internship program will place participating interns in cancer research labs at foremost institutions across the country. They will engage in a hands-on experience, while receiving mentorship from leading scientists in the field.
