Massachusetts Man Charged In Stabbing At Foxwoods Resort Casino

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man from Chicopee is being charged in connection with a stabbing at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

According to a statement from the casino, a large bar fight broke out at Centrale at Fox Tower shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday.

Three individuals were involved in the stabbing; one man was injured, and one man was arrested.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Donovan Alves of Providence, Rhode Island. He was treated at Backus Hospital in Norwich and is now listed in stable condition.

40-year-old Robert J. Haines of 46 Medford St., Chicopee, Mass. was taken into custody and is facing several charges, including assault in the third degree causing minor injury.

Police report Haines had been drinking alcohol at the time of the stabbing.

Tribal Police are reviewing surveillance video to determine what led to the attack.
