Teresa Giudice Reveals The 'No Cheat Clause' In Her Prenup With Joe Giudice

The latest episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey is giving fans an inside look at Teresa Giudice's decision to end her marriage of 20 years. While shopping for prom dresses with her daughter, Gia, Teresa accepted a call from her now ex-husband, Joe Giudice, who was in ICE custody at the time. The call quickly turned into an argument about their finances.

"You got nothing to do, all you do is go shopping and you spend money," Joe said during the call, which Gia listened to over speaker phone. "Your mother is like Robin Hood. She takes from her husband and spends it all on the stores."

Teresa didn't take well to Joe's comments and defended herself."Yeah I’m not taking from my husband, though... I’m working on my own, busting my a**, taking care of our four daughters," Teresa retorted.

"You didn’t leave me with millions in the bank account, you left me with nothing. And I paid off all the debt, taking care of our four daughters, and doing it all by myself. And I’m spending a lot of money on lawyers," she continued. "I'm not spending your stupid money. It's not like I was marrying a millionaire. I was marrying nothing. And you made me sign a prenup, OK?"

Later on in the episode, Teresa spoke about her wedding back in 1999, which she almost called off at the last minute after Joe demanded a prenup. "A week before we were getting married, Joe asked me to sign a prenup and I just felt when you love someone, you don’t do that," she explained. "I wasn’t going to go through with it, but being Italian, I have old school parents, and it’s an embarrassing thing to call off a wedding."

Ultimately, though, Teresa signed the agreement. She did, however, add something to the binding legal document. "I didn’t even read it, I just said, 'I want you to put one thing in there. If you ever cheat, the prenup goes void,'" she revealed.

Teresa and Joe called it quits following his release from ICE custody and subsequent deportation to Italy. According to an Entertainment Tonight source, Teresa has "known for a while that things weren’t going to work out between them." Following both their jail stints and Joe's current legal battle, the source says "their marriage had been through far too much for them to start over. She's ready for a new start for 2020."
