Crash Shuts Down I-95 North In North Attleboro

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts State Police say that one person was critically injured and several were brought to the hospital after a serious crash on I-95 in North Attleborough Friday.

The crash happened sometime after 6:30 a.m. just north of Route 152 when a car traveling southbound cut across the median towards the northbound lanes.

State Police say that eight vehicles were involved in the crash forcing the road to be shut down.

The person who suffered critical injuries was brought to Rhode Island Hospital. The others who suffered less serious injuries were taken to that hospital or Sturdy Memorial Hospital State Police said.

Traffic had been detoured at Exit 5 for a period of time as emergency crews worked to clear the road. One lane was re-opened shortly before 8:00 a.m. but authorities say that delays are expected throughout the morning.
