Newton Psychologist Develops App For Marijuana Impairment

BOSTON, Mass (WBZ-AM) -- With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Massachusetts comes the concern that drivers under the influence will be out on the already hectic roadways.

There is currently no legal standard to determine if someone is too stoned to get behind the wheel.

Now there's an app for that.

Newton Psychologist Michael Milburn developed Druid, a mobile app that warns drivers if they are too high to drive.

Speaking with WBZ-TV, Milburn says that current measures don't work.

The app which is available for on Apple and Android devices has users complete four tasks in two minutes, testing hand-eye coordination, multi-tasking, and balance.

It then scores your performance and lets you know if you are too high to drive.
