BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Local comedian Lenny Clarke is gearing up for the 24th annual Comics Come Home at TD Garden on Saturday, November 3rd. He stopped by to talk to WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker about the event, which supports the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care and the Neely House.

Denis Leary, who co-founded Comics Come Home with Cam Neely, picks the lineup. This year, in addition to Clarke, it includes Jim Breuer, Pete Correale, Billy Gardell, Christine Hurley, Robert Kelly, Jessica Kirson, Brian Regan, and others still to be announced.

"All these people, they're not only really funny, they're great people," Clarke said. "To donate their time, to come in and put on an amazing show, probably in front of 17,000 people, it's pretty exciting ... This gets bigger and better. Last year we had John Mayer come out and play guitar. Jimmy Fallon stops in, 'cause his dad suffered from cancer and stayed at the Neely House."

Clarke said it's important to do something that gives back.

"All the money raised goes to cancer research and the Neely House, where--if someone in your family is sick and they come from out of town, you can stay at the Neely House while your family member is being worked on for the cancer treatment," he said.

Clarke detailed this year's event and talked about his career in an extended interview, which you can listen to below.
