While the ACM Awards don’t take place until next month, we already know a few winners! Winners in the Best New Artists categories were informed of their wins over the weekend, with the show’s host Reba McEntire calling them personally to give them the good news.
Lauren Alaina won New Female Vocalist of the Year and instantly burst into tears, while New Male Vocalist of the Year Brett Young kept his cool, and when asked if he was going to be at the show he replied, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world, especially now.”
But the funniest reaction had to be New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year Midland, who actually thought the whole thing was a joke, not even believing that it was Reba on the phone, let alone that they won the award!
