Last week, Amy mentioned she was watching a new show called "The Handmaid's Tale." It's a Hulu original series she'd seen Maren Morris tweet about and decided to check out:
With Amy and Maren's stamp of approval, I decided to give the show a try too.
And Oh. My. Gosh. It's so twisted and dark, but I was hooked from the very first episode. There are 6 episodes available right now on Hulu and I watched them ALL over the weekend.
The series is set a few years into the future, and the entire world is plagued with infertility. Meaning humanity is on the brink of extinction if there's no solution. The US government is overthrown by a super religious cult kind of group and the few women who are still fertile are taken and turned...basically into baby making machines for the new 'commanders' of the former United States.

This is hands down the best show I've seen all year, with HBO's Big Little Lies coming in second place.
It's eery because the plot set up makes this super crazy idea of kidnapping fertile women to 'save' society seem plausible.
If you don't have a Hulu account, you can sign up for free for the first 30 days. And you'll only need about 3 to get through this! The only catch? After you get to binge the first 6 episodes, you'll have to wait for Wednesday to roll around before they put up another episode, unlike Netflix that posts them all at once.
But this show is worth the wait!
