As I've been watching the procession for K9 Kitt I couldn't help, but feel like what could I do to help honor a selfless creature who was killed in the line of duty protecting his handler.
Two weeks ago K9 Kitt was killed in an ambush in Braintree. Officers were called to a domestic and when the man fled into the woods he shot both officers & Kitt. Kitt died a hero protecting his handler. Today the state is honoring him at Gillette Stadium with a service.
I have friends and family that are officers. Good people that put their lives on the line for the public. I have nothing but respect for them and for the animals that work with them.
I don't know if K9 Kitt was vested... If there was time if he wasn't... I don't know if it would have helped if he was so don't take this as a finger point at the Police Department. Nothing but respect.
