New Virtual Boston Marathon Option - I Said I'd Never Run A Full BUUUUUT...

Now I've done 6 half marathons for St. Jude and when people have asked if I'll ever run a full I say "Why would I want to S$*%T my pants"... Clearly that doesn't happen to most, but it can! And seeing one of those photos clearly scarred me for life.

HOWEVER... to say I've completed the Boston Marathon would be quite the accomplishment. Now the 125th run this year will be October 11th. The field size for the actual race has not been decided yet, but for the first time in honor of the 125th they'll allow 70,000 people to virtually do the race too.

“For the first time in our history, most everyone will have the opportunity to earn a Unicorn finisher’s medal for every B.A.A. race in 2021—no matter whether they choose to walk or run,” said Tom Grilk, President and C.E.O. of the B.A.A.

The virtual will be in addition to the actual and their will be no time limits or qualifications - which means I could run/walk the 26.2 and pick a route that avoids the heartbreak. I've since signed up for their virtual 5K which will be going down the weekend of Patriot's Day - what would have been the normal race weekend.

SOOO when it comes to the virtual full... I'm not saying no... but not quite yes yet!
