My Darling Vivian - The Story Of Johnny Cash's 1st Wife

SXSW (South By Southwest) Film Festival has put some of this years films up on Amazon. When I discovered late yesterday there was a documentary about Johnny Cash's first wife Vivian "My Darling Vivian" I knew I had to watch. The only depiction of her I had ever seen was in "Walk The Line" which didn't exactly paint her in the best light. I did remember at the time the movie came out that Johnny and Vivian's four daughters made it known that the film did a disservice to their mother.

The Johnny and June mlove story is one we've believed to be of mythical greatness, but upon watching this documentary you realize everyone that was involved were just people that probably did the best they could however made mistakes like we all do. Vivian and Johnny were married for 13 years and produced 4 daughters. Through their interviews in the documentary "My Darling Vivian" you realize that the parents were flawed, but that they did love each other and continued to until they both passed on. Vivian wasn't some shrew that "Walk The Line" painted... remember that song is about Vivian not June.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING!
